Why the Fall is the Time to Act
The weather in Portland and Bend will be no joke soon enough, so make use of the window fall affords. Once the rain and cold are upon you, putting roofing on the calendar is not as simple and minor things have a habit of turning into major ones. A shingle goes in October, an interior leak has you by December.
Warranties are much the same; they do you little good if not in place before trouble starts. Make your arrangements in the fall and you will be well aware of where you stand when winter comes. We have a three tier workmanship program at Bliss Roofing:
- Basic Bliss for 15 years
- 20 years in the Blissful tier
- 30 years with Pure Bliss
There are also some project specific warranties to consider. We warrant re-roofing for 10 years and new construction for five (labor to guard against any leakage from our workmanship). The manufacturer offers a limited lifetime on materials.
That is no small thing. As a CertainTeed Select ShingleMaster we have been putting in their materials and having them back us up since 2008. Yet the installation is what makes a manufacturer warranty any good, which is our role.
Quality of Installation and Your Coverage
It is not uncommon for a homeowner to find out too late that a poor job of installation has rendered a materials warranty void. When you have to put your paid for coverage to the test it may not amount to much.
You will not find subcontractors at Bliss Roofing, only our own staff. The company vouching for the warranty and the men on your roof are the same entity, there is no finger pointing between a contractor and his crew.
